How it works
The principles are pretty basic—you simply place your projector behind the screen, shooting towards the audience, set it to rear projection mode, and you’re all done. Rear projection used to be all the rage in the film industry: cast your mind back to car chases in old James Bond movies.
But why was it so popular? Well, the theory is that by putting the projector behind the screen and in its own room (where you have complete control over the surrounding lighting), you can achieve the best image possible—and avoid the effects of any ambient lighting that may be hitting the front of the screen. Plus, if you were to use front projection, any actors and props in the scene would cast shadows on the screen—thereby ruining the effect of the projection.

1.Transparent rear projection film can have a good effect in the dark environment. As it have 92% transmittance, people can see things through the film,and it will have a holographic image. But if there have strong sunlight, the image projected can't been seen clearly.
2.Dark gray,grey,black rear projection film all are high contrast and can absorb the light,So they can be used under the strong light environment, the best opinion is high contrast grey.
Transparent (Clear Film)rear projection film: It is an almost transparent rear projection film that provides a bright and holographic looking image when being projected on, and is virtually see-through when the projector is off, the transmittance is up to 94% with 175 degree view angle.
Light Gray rear projection Film : It is light gray film, offering the high contrast, reduced hot-spotting, and great viewing angles. So the images is the clearer than transparent film.
Dark Grey rear projection Film : It is darker film, offering the highest contrast, reduced hot-spotting, and great viewing angles. So the images is the clearest.
White rear projection Film : It is a white translucent rear projection film that offers some light diffusion properties and hot-spot reduction, and looks like a frosted film when the projector is off.
Mirror rear projection Film : It likes mirror when the projector off mode,with black and mirror double sides, mirror sides supply holographic effect without projector lighting.
